Colombo, May 19 (newswire/newsin.asia) – Sri Lanka faces a risk of nearly 1 million COVID-19 patients being reported in the next 100 days, Deputy Director-General of Public Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath warned.
He told reporters that if the virus continues to spread over the next five days then the infection will double every five days.
Dr. Herath said therefore, this will lead to 1 million infections being detected in the next 100 days.
The Director-General of Health Services today (18) confirmed 34 deaths that occurred between 11th to 18th May due to the Covid 19 virus infection. Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 1015 by now. Read more
