Colombo, August 2 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 311,000 mark as another 2,510 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (1).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 311,349 with 27,998 active cases registered across the island and as many as 278,910 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 67 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Saturday (July 31).
Reportedly, 1 of them is aged below 30 years, 10 victims are between 30-59 years and the remaining 56 are aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 4,508 as of now.
