July 17 (India Today) – Is there anyone who doesn’t enjoy a piping hot bowl of freshly made French Fries?
While we may all be guilty of indulging in this calorie-laden fast food, we can’t deny the fact that we absolutely love them. They are cheap, tasty and a great on-the-go snack option. However, Serendipity3, a famous restaurant in New York City, took their culinary game to next level, by creating the world’s most expensive French Fries.
On National French Fry Day, celebrated on July 13, creative director and chef Joe Calderone and corporate executive chef Frederick Schoen-Kiewert of Serendipity3 created Crème de la Crème Pomme Frites which costs USD 200 (INR 14,928 approximately). Serendipity3 set a Guinness World Record for making the “Most Expensive French Fries”.
The ingredients, you ask? According to a post shared on the official Instagram handle of the US eatery, the French Fries are made with upstate Chipperbeck potatoes which are blanched in Dom Perignon Champagne and J LeBlanc French Champagne Ardenne Vinegar. They are then fried thrice in pure goose fat.
Then, they are seasoned with Guerande truffle salt, Urbani summer truffle oil and topped with shaved Crete Senesi Pecorino Tartufello.
Guinness World Record’s official Instagram handle has shared a video in which the chefs can be seen whipping up magic in the kitchen. The video includes the entire process and it is sure to make you drool.
