Colombo, Nov 1 (newsin.asia): Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena told a high level Japanese delegation here on Wednesday that “Japan has been continuously assisting Sri Lanka as a true friend.”
The Head of the Japanese delegation, Director General of International Cooperation Bureau, Assistant Minister, Kazuya Nashida, assured the Sri Lankan President that his country would extend the fullest cooperation to Sri Lanka’s development programs.
He extended an invitation from the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the President for an early State Visit to Japan.
The delegation included Japanese Ambassador Kenichi Suganuma and senior officials of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Foreign Ministry of Japan. Foreign Secretary Prasad Kariyawarsam was also present during the discussion.
