Colombo, Nov 15 (DailyMirror) – With the number of COVID-19 related cases and deaths showing a marginal increase day by day despite vaccination, Health authorities warn of dark days ahead if the situation is not nipped in the bud.
COVID-19 Coordinator, Director of Technical Services of the Ministry of Health Dr. Anwar Hamdani told media over the weekend that there is a slight increase in hospitalisation of COVID patients.“30% of total treatment centres of 176 have been occupied at present,” he said.

“This is in fact setting alarm bells ringing. It is imperative that we control the situation before it turns worse, or else the country would inevitably be dragged into the dark era that we had a few months ago,” Dr. Hamdani highlighted.
Hence, he urged people to strictly comply with health guidelines and practices if the country is to reach a controlled situation.

The number of infections which was around 600, now ranges between 700 to 800. In addition, the number of fatalities is also around 20 at present.
