Colombo, April 28 (newsin.asia): The Consultant Sabawa (Council) for the Sri Lankan High Commissioner for India has proposed to the Maha Sangha that the ‘Rathana Sutta’ be recited in every Lankan Buddhist temple on May 1 for the recovery of India and other countries from the calamity caused by the coronavirus.
A press release from the High Commission in New Delhi said that the appeal was made by the Uttareethara Sanga Consultant Sabawa for Sri Lankan High Commissioner for India. The Council has also urged that the recitation be done with minimum participation.
Ven. Dr. Niyangoda Wijithasiri Anunayaka Thero said that not only neighboring India, but the entire world is facing a severe crisis due to the epidemic. The ‘Rathana Sutta’ was being chanted at many temples in Sri Lanka, wishing all the people of the world protection from COVID-19.
