Mumbai (newsin.asia) – India registered a record number of 83,883 coronavirus infections yesterday (2) taking its tally to 3.85 million, just 100,000 behind Brazil, the world’s second most affected nation, according to the health ministry data.
Previously India reported 78,761 cases which was the world’s highest single-day increase in coronavirus cases.
The worst-hit country in Asia has been posting the world’s largest daily cases for almost a month now, although deaths remain relatively low.
1,043 people have died from COVID-19, taking the toll to 67,376 the ministry said.
