Mumbai (newsin.asia) – India recorded 37,975 new infections of coronavirus cases which brings the total case count to 9,177,841. The cases have remained below the 50,000 mark for more than two weeks, having peaked in September.
With 480 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the total death toll mounts to 134,218 according to the Health Ministry. USA, Italy and France report more daily new deaths than India.
Total active cases increase to 438,667 while 8,604,955 have been discharged with 42,314 new discharges in last 24 hrs.
India has the second-highest number of cases in the world, after the United States.
Prime Minsiter Modi will hold two virtual meetings today to review the COVID-19 and vaccine development. One will be with the eight states with a high number of coronavirus cases while the other one will be with all states and UTs to discuss vaccine distribution strategy.
