Hyderabad, Nov 1 (IndiaToday) – Yoga guru and the chief of Patanjali Peetham, Baba Ramdev, demanded on Sunday that ‘Gomata (cow)’ should be declared as the national animal of India.
Addressing the farewell of the two-day ‘Go Maha Sammelan’, organized by TTD at Mahati Auditorium in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati, Baba Ramdev said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah should bring out legislation, declaring cow as the national animal of India, as proposed by the TTD Trust board.

He said, “Patanjali Peetham is always at the forefront of ‘Go Samrakshana (cow protection)’ campaign.” Baba Ramdev sounded confident that “resolutions of the Go Maha Sammelan would resound among all cow lovers”.
The yoga guru said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had informed him about the TTD Go Maha Sammelan program.
He also lauded other TTD programs for “Hindu dharmic propagation”, and particularly praised the efforts of TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy.
