Curfew imposed in several areas in Colombo District

Colombo, April 1 (newsin.asia) – Police curfew has been imposed in several areas in the country with immediate effect until further notice due to the tense situation that erupted outside the private residence of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today evening.

• Colombo North
• Colombo South
• Colombo Central
• Nugegoda Police
• Mount Lavinia Police
• Kelaniya Police

This comes just hours after police had used tear gas and water cannons to disperse a large group of protesters who gathered near Pengiriwatta Mawatha, which leads to the President’s residence in Mirihana.
