Colombo, July 30 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 304,000 mark as another 2,329 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (29).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 304,202 with 26,448 active cases registered across the island and as many as 273,496 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 66 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Wednesday (July 28).
Reportedly, seventeen are between the ages 30-59 while 49 are aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 4,324 as of now.
Commenting on the rise in COIVD cases, Deputy Director-General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said this situation had to be taken seriously.
“Now, it is no use of crying over spilt milk. What should be done is to strictly follow health guidelines and practices,” he stressed.
Thus, he urged people to toe the line if we are to break free from COVID; otherwise, everyone will have to pay the price.
