June 10 (NewsWire) – About 10 percent of the country’s population have already been vaccinated as at Tuesday evening (8), latest health ministry statistics revealed.
Accordingly, 2,025,725 citizens have received their first dose while 356,956 of them have already received their second dose.

Statistics also revealed that, 17.62 percent of citizens above 30 years-old from the entire population have been vaccinated by Tuesday (8). A total of 1,035,497 persons have received the Sinopharm vaccines, 925,242 persons have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca (Covishield) while 64,986 persons have received Sputnik V as at last Tuesday (8) evening.
Currently, Sri Lanka has received a total of 4,429,000 vaccines and more vaccines are to be purchased within the next few weeks.
