New Delhi, January 1 (The New Indian Express): Suspected Pakistani hackers greeted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on New Year’s Day by hacking the website of the elite Indian National Security Guard (NSG) and posting on it content abusing him in the vilest language.
The hacking attempt was noticed by the paramilitary early on Sunday and the URL — www.nsg.gov.in — was soon blocked by it.
The hackers who identified themselves as ‘Alone Injector’ posted the offensive content on the website’s home page.
A preliminary probe has revealed that the hacking attempt could have been carried out by Pakistan-affiliated hackers. A thorough probe is underway to ascertain the pinpointed details about the hackers and their location.
The website is maintained from the NSG headquarters here and puts basic information about the force, its origin and operations in the public domain.
Officials said the matter has been brought to the notice of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) that hosts the site and the site is expected to be unblocked soon.
The NSG, raised in 1984, is the Central contingency force to undertake counter-terror and anti-piracy hijacking operations.
