Colombo, Feb 15 (newsin.asia) – Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pulwama, in the India’s Jammu and Kashmir state, which killed 40 officers from India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
In a statement, Sirisena said he was extremely saddened over the dastardly terror attack and called upon the global community to unite to condemn such brutal terrorist attacks and take effective action to prevent such incidents in future.
Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe also condemned the attack and offered his condolences to the families of officers who lost their lives.
The attack in Pulwama occurred on Thursday when a vehicle laden with around 350 kg of explosives hit a CRPF convoy by ramming into a bus and blowing itself up, killing 40 Indian officers.
Security analysts said the attack is the deadliest in Kashmir since 1989.
