Colombo, May 17 (newsin.asia) – A decision has been taken to impose an island-wide travel restriction again from 11 pm on Friday (21) to Tuesday (25) till 4 am continuously, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said.
Then, travel restrictions will be imposed again from 11 pm on May 25 to 4 am on May 28, he said.
The restriction will prohibit people from leaving their homes and only those involved in essential services will be allowed to be on the roads.
Meanwhile, with the daily count of new Covid-19 cases reaching 2,275 yesterday (16), Colombo district recorded 438 cases as the highest, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.
