Colombo, Sept 1 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 440,000 mark as another 4,221 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (31).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 440,302 with 56,961 active cases registered across the island and as many as 374,156 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 194 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Monday (30).
Reportedly, 45 of the Covid-19 deaths were individuals between the ages of 30-59 and the remaining 146 were persons aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 9,185 as of now.
