Colombo, Feb 21 (newsin.asia) – Sri Lanka will re-shuffle its cabinet by the end of the week, after the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the United National Party (UNP) announced it would go ahead with the unity government, Cabinet Spokesperson Rajitha Senaratne said.
Sources said under the new cabinet, ministers who did not perform within the last 3 years are expected to be demoted while former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka is tipped to be the new Law and Order Minister.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe informed Parliament on Wednesday that he saw no reason why the unity government should not continue. This was backed by UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera who also informed Parliament that the UPFA would continue the coalition.
