Sri Lanka ranks in top 10 of best wedding and honeymoon destinations in 2017

Colombo, March 6 (NIA) – A world’s leading luxury tour operator has ranked Sri Lanka as the third top honeymoon destination and fourth top wedding destination in 2017.

Sri Lanka ranked No. 4 in Top Wedding destinations, up four places from last year when it ranked Number 8 in the latest report released by Kuoni – one of the leaders in honeymoons and weddings in the world.

Sri Lanka ranked third in the Top Honeymoon destinations, up two notches from last year when it ranked number 5.

The Maldives and Mauritius took the top spots in both rankings, demonstrating the popularity of paradisiacal places which offer beauty and tranquility of the finest degree.

“Nowadays, couples are opting for a wider range of romantic venues – from iconic cities and safari lodges, to private islands and castles,” Kuoni said in a statement.

In 1995, Kuoni launched its first standalone wedding brochure and more than half the weddings featured were in the Caribbean, with the USA and Indian Ocean locations also sought-after destinations.
