Colombo, May 22 (NIA) – Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena, on Monday will leave for an official visit to Australia to hold discussions with Australian leaders and further strengthen ties, the President’s media division said here.
Sirisena will be carrying out the visit following an invitation extended by Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull.
Sirisena will be in Australia for three days, during which he will be meeting with Prime Minister Turnbull and other high ranking officials.
The meeting between Australian Prime Minister Turnbull and President Sirisena is scheduled to be held in Canberra on May 25.
According to reports, Sirisena will also hold discussions with Australian Minister of Immigration and Emigration, Peter Dutton and Australian Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop.
