Colombo, Nov 24 (newsin.asia) – The Police have requested the public to wear a face mask even when travelling in a private vehicle.
Police said today that they will launch special operations in the Western Province to inspect those violating health guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Accordingly, the police will inspect the general public including those visiting public places, traveling in public transport and those traveling in vehicles to monitor whether they adhere to health guidelines and are wearing masks.
According to the Police, if the passenger in the vehicle is not a relative then they must wear a face mask.
Police said legal action will be taken against those who violate such health laws.
In order to avoid any inconvenience, motorists and passengers have been urged to wear face masks so they are not stopped by the Police.
