Colombo, July 24 (newsin.asia) – A COVID-19 positive inmate has escaped from the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) today (24).
The drug addict had been receiving treatment at the IDH hospital when he escaped the Police said.
The inmate, who escaped from the hospital this morning (24), has a limp on his left leg, Police Spokesperson SSP Jaliya Senaratne said.
A manhunt has been launched with multiple teams deployed to trace the inmate and arrest him.
According to the Police Media, the escapee, named Mohammed Kasim Mohammed Nasim, is a 41-year-old from Marble Beach Road, China Bay in Trincomalee.
