Colombo, Nov 30 (NIA) – Sri Lanka is to search for investors to establish an internal airline service in the island nation, a cabinet decision showed here on Wednesday.
Media Minister, Gayantha Karunathilleke told a weekly media briefing that the internal airline service would meet the criteria of the International Civil Aviation Authority.
He said, following a proposal made by President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Defence Minister, to call for proposals from eligible private investors to select a suitable investor for commencing such an airline service with the Sri Lanka Air Force, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
