Colombo, Feb 28 – Sri Lanka has become the first country in South Asia to use the low radiation mobile X-Ray machines, the Health Ministry, quoted in the local Daily News said.
Health Minister, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said the machines have been produced in Korea and it has been introduced into the Kalutara General Hospital, in the island’s south. All state hospitals across the island will also receive a machine each in order to carry out X-Rays on patients, the Minister added.
The new mobile X-Ray machine emits 0.0004 points of radiation and weighs six kilograms.
X-Rays can be taken either in hospitals or even in vehicles through this machine, the Health Ministry said.
