Colombo, Feb 2 (NIA) – Sri Lanka’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Harsha De Silva on Thursday questioned workers involved in a road expansion project in the capital as to why skeletal remains were thrown outside a cemetery where the expansion project was currently taking place.
In a video posted on De Silva’s facebook page, the Deputy Minister is seen questioning the workers as to why skeletal remains were thrown along with the garbage on the side of the road.
The Deputy Minister was seen questioning the supervisor and apprehending him as to why they had resorted to such action.
“People busy their loved ones not to see their remains thrown in the garbage. How can you throw it like this?” the Deputy Minister was seen questioning.
The work is being carried out by the Western Provincial Council Road Development Authority.
