Colombo, Oct 2 (DailyMirror) – Sri Lanka is likely to experience rainy weather for the rest of the year with inter monsoon rains expected to prevail this month and November while the North-East Monsoon is expected in December.
This is in addition to the atmospheric disturbance situation which the country is experiencing at the moment, a spokesman from the Department of Meteorology said yesterday.

Rainfalls exceeding 150mm are expected in the North, North Central, North Western and Sabaragumwa due to a low-level disturbance in the low-level atmosphere according to an official attached to the Department of Meteorology.“the inter monsoon season will approach in October and November while the North East Monsoon is expected early December,” she said.
Rains exceeding 100mm are expected in the Western and Southern provinces within the coming days.
Meanwhile the Disaster Management Centre said a few roads in the Western, Southern provinces were underwater yesterday as a result of rains which fell in torrents in the areas. Nearly 100mm of rain was reported in several areas in the Western province while the Batticaloa District experienced a rainfall of 110mm.a rainfall of 80mm was reported from Katunayake, 30mm from Ratnapura.
