Colombo, August 10 (DailyMirror) – Possible travel restrictions, restricting the movement of people is likely to be imposed today or tomorrow following discussions with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the Daily Mirror learns.

A decisions on the fresh travel restrictions or possibly even a curfew is likely to be announced soon.
Health experts have been increasing their calls to impose an islandwide curfew as the country’s health system is on the brink of collapse with a rapid rise in COVID19 patients as well as the mounting deaths.
Experts said the havoc was suspected to be caused by the Delta variant.
Doctors in the forefront have predicted the death toll will hit over 200 per day and over 5000 new patients will be detected daily if immediate stringent measures are not taken by the authorities.
Some cities and countries who are facing the Delta variant have announced lockdowns. (JAMILA HUSAIN)
