Islamabad, Oct 18 (NIA) – An Islamabad chaiwala, or tea seller, has become Pakistan’s blue-eyed boy, with people on social media calling him Pakistan’s “nuclear weapon” and a reason why India should ‘not go in for war with its neighboring country’.
The picture of the blue-eyed hunk was taken by photographer Jiah Ali during a random photo walk in a market in Islamabad and it became an overnight sensation on social media after she posted it on Instagram.
The tea-seller, whose actual name is Arshad Khan, was caught on camera, preparing tea, when he looked directly into the camera with his deadly looks and dashing blue eyes.
The photo became the top trend on Twitter in Pakistan late yesterday with the hashtag #ChaiWala and soon became one of the highest trending hashtags across the world.
Jiah Ali said that never in a million years did she expect the picture to become such a sensation.
“I keep sharing different pictures on Instagram, but I guess the ladies really liked him,” she told The International Business Times.
Women and men, both from India and Pakistan are now dubbing Khan as the new Ambassador of Peace with one twitter follower @MichaelKugelman tweeting, ‘Clearly #India–#Pakistan tensions have eased; a handsome Islamabad tea-seller is the top-trending topic in the region (& world!). #ChaiWala
Another twitter user @shruti_writes says ‘Pakistan has #ChaiWala looking like this. Please dont bomb it, thanks.’
Looking at the widespread love that Khan is receiving, Jiah Ali went back to Itwaar bazaar to find him and tell him all about it. Khan, brother of 17 siblings, expressed his ecstasy on becoming famous in one day.
In an interview to Dunya News, Khan said that he is happy with his overnight popularity but it is irritating when people gather around him for pictures during working hours as he is supposed to work to earn a livelihood.
Meanwhile, he said that people have taken more than 150 pictures with him so far.
