“Mujhe dard e dil ka pata na tha” across borders

Here are three versions of the same Hindi song “Mujhe darde dil ka pata na tha” in the 1965 Hindi film Akashdeep starring Dharmendra and Nanda:

Original song was sung by Mohammad Rafi, the tune was set by Chitragupt and the lyrics were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.

Sri Lankan singer Haroon Lantra singing the Sinhalese version: “Mage Namali”. It featured in the 1973 film “Gopalu Handa” starring D.R.Nanayakkara, Jeevarani Kurukulasuriya and Tony Ranasinghe. Directed by R.Venkat it had music by Muthuswamy master.
