Male, Feb 20 (newsin.asia) – The Maldives Defence Ministry, on Tuesday rejected reports of foreign war ships having entered the Maldivian seas, and said the Maldivian National Defence Force continued to safeguard the country’s territories.
“The MNDF continues to safeguard the nation’s Exclusive Economic Zone and Territorial Zone. As such we assure the public that there are no foreign warships operating within Maldivian waters at this time,’ the Ministry of Defence and National Security said.
“At such a time of political unrest, we request all parties to refrain from spreading information in a manner detrimental to the nation’s national security and sovereignty, or in a manner encouraging foreign military intervention,” the Ministry added.
