Aug 18 (NIA) – An Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Samarth’ arrived at the Colombo Port on a goodwill visit on Thursday, the navy media unit said here.
The ship was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on her arrival.
The Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Anand Prakash Badola called on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in capital Colombo and held cordial discussions.
‘Samarth’ is scheduled to leave Sri Lanka on Aug 20. During her stay the crew of the ship will take part in a number of events including a friendly volleyball match organized by the Sri Lanka Navy.
