Dec 2 (newsin.asia) – India confirmed its first case of the Covid-19 Omicron variant on Thursday.
Omicron has been confirmed for two patients from Karnataka. One is a 66-year-old male, the other is a 46-year-old male. Contact tracing is being done: Health Ministry.
Around 49% of adult population in India has been completely vaccinated with two doses of vaccine, Health Ministry said.
Around 29 countries have reported 373 cases of Omicron so far.
The WHO said on Tuesday that those not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including people over 60 years of age, who are also vulnerable to the disease should put off travel to areas with community transmission.
