Mumbai (newsin.asia) – India registered a record 86,432 coronavirus cases yesterday (6) taking its tally past 4 million, just 9,000+ behind Brazil, the world’s second most affected nation, according to the health ministry data.
Previously India reported 83,883 cases which was the world’s highest single-day increase in coronavirus cases.
The jump to more than 4 million cases comes only 13 days after India reached 3 million cases, accelerating sharply from the more than 100 days it took to increase by the previous 1 million.
The worst-hit country in Asia has been posting the world’s largest daily cases for almost a month now, although deaths remain relatively low.
The COVID-19 deaths in India rose by more than 1,000 to 69,561 on Saturday.
