Colombo, May 30 (newsin.asia): The contrast was striking. Even as thousands of residents of Colombo were in mile-long queues for petrol, diesel or cooking gas, and were struggling to make ends meet given the skyrocketing prices of essentials, there was a glittering fashion show in a five-star hotel, a stone’s throw away from the epicenter of a popular agitation asking an inept government to pack up and go.
It was a Mother and Daughter fashion show, patronized by the city’s elite, in which the models were mother-daughter duos.
Mothers and their daughters sashayed down the ramp with panache in a variety of eye-catching dresses.
