Colombo, October 29 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 9,000 mark yesterday as 335 new cases had been detected within the day (28).
The total number of confirmed cases stands at 9,205 with 5,111 active cases across the island according to the Health Promotion Bureau. 4,075 cases have recovered so far with 19 deaths reported.
Curfew has been imposed on the entire Western Province from midnight today (29).
The curfew will continue until 5 am in the morning on Monday (2) the Army Commander Shavendra Silva said.
Sri Lanka conducted a record 10,740 PCR tests in a day on Tuesday. The total number of PCR tests conducted in the country stands at 480,838 according to the Health Promotion Bureau.
