Colombo, October 13 (newsin.asia) – The total COVID-19 positive cases in Sri Lanka stands at 4,893, 1552 cases are active under treatment at the moment while 3,328 cases have recovered with 13 deaths reported so far according to the Health Promotion Bureau.
Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara said that the health ministry has a clear understanding of the spread of the latest COVID-19 cluster.
The Government Information Department confirmed another 49 COVID-19 positive cases from the Minuwangoda cluster increasing the total count to 1,446.
7 employees from the Brandix Head Office in Kollupitiya have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been identified as close contacts of the Minuwangoda Brandix Factory employees according to CMC sources.
The Health authorities have instructed a temporary shutdown of six shops in Borella after three individuals who tested positive for Covid-19 had visited the shops recently, the police said.
A grade 8 student of a girl’s school in Maradana has also tested positive for COVID-19, the student has been identified as a resident of Veyangoda.
All pharmacies and essential item outlets will remain closed for 3 days in the areas where quarantine curfew is in effect starting from today (13).
DIG Ajith Rohana has requested the public to have a log of their daily movements either on their smartphone or a notebook if there is a need for information on the close contacts of an individual if that person tests positive for the coronavirus.
