Dhaka, November 17 (newsin.asia): A Chinese company has helped set up Bangladesh’s first “robot restaurant” where food is served by robots.
HZX Electronic Technology Company of China provided technical support to the ‘Robot Restaurant’, located in the Family World Convention Center at Asad Gate, Mirpur Road in Dhaka.
Explaining the need to go in for robots in place of the traditional waiters, the Director of the restaurant, Rahin Raiyan, said that waiters get tired after working for a few hours. But when robots are serving the guests, the waiters can attend to other aspects of hospitality which might have been neglected in the rush to serve guests.
“Also such an environment will be a source of amusement for people of all ages, especially children. The kids’ menu will be the unique selling point,” Raiyan said.
People from all sections of society can visit the restaurant as the food will be reasonably priced, he assured.
The restaurant has installed two humanoid robots to serve food to customers.
“Initially, robots will not take orders. They will just deliver orders. We will gradually go for the option of getting orders through robots,” Raiyan said.
Max Schwarz, CEO of HZX Electronic Technology Company, said: “We are very committed and ready to provide all kinds of help and cooperation for robot digitalization in Bangladesh.”
Each robot for this restaurant costs between $8,000 and $10,000.
