Colombo, Feb 2 (NIA) – An Oceanographic research vessel of the Chinese navy, ‘Quan Sanqiang’ arrived at the Port of Colombo for a replenishment and technical halt on Wednesday.
The ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on
her arrival.
Subsequently, the Commanding Officer of ‘Quan Sanqiang’ Lieutenant Commander Yang Haitao paid a courtesy call on the Commander, Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle at the Western Naval Command Headquarters and held cordial discussions.
Mementoes were also exchanged to mark the significance of this official meeting.
The Chinese ship is scheduled to stay in Sri Lanka until Feb 6.
