Colombo, November 23 (newsin.asia): The twentieth annual edition of the prestigious Shankar’s International Children’s painting and essay competition held here on Saturday under the aegis of the High Commission of India in Colombo, drew more than 500 young artists from all over Sri Lanka.
Indian High Commissioner Taranjit Singh Sandhu complimented parents and teachers for encouraging children to take part in such events which, he said, “help develop critical thinking, and encourage children to explore new ideas and skills.”
The competition provided children from all over Sri Lanka a platform to showcase their talent through artworks and essays on the topic “Earth is the only home we have, Treasure it”.
