Colombo, August 8 (newsin.asia): The Government of India has been implementing “Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children [SPDC]” since 2006-07. Under this scheme, assistance is provided to the Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indian (NRIs) for pursuing undergraduate courses in Indian Universities/Institutes.
Students belong to this category from Sri Lanka are also eligible for this scholarship, under which they are entitled to get financial assistance to pursue both professional and non- professional courses (except Medical/Paramedical), only fresh Students (I year) are eligible to apply. Students who have studied their higher secondary courses in India are not eligible for this scholarship.
