Colombo, May 12 (newsin.asia) – Commander of Army General Shavendra Silva stated that an island-wide travel restriction will be imposed daily between 11.00 pm and 04.00 am starting tonight (12).
This travel restriction will be implemented until the 31st of May, 2021.
Only transport of essential and food items will be allowed to travel during this period, the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.
Further, officials from the Health Promotion Bureau have encouraged only two people to travel in a vehicle with a second person sitting in the backseat and not near the driver. If more than one person in a vehicle, have urged both individuals to wear masks even inside vehicle. This does NOT apply to those living in the same house & is only applicable if two people from separate families are travelling in the vehicle.
