Colombo, Aug 28 (newsin.asia) – Five students drowned in the seas off Jaffna, in Sri Lanka’s northern district on Monday after the boats they were travelling in capsized, police said.
The bodies were recovered following a search operation launched by the navy and police. Search efforts are continuing to find another student who is still missing.
Police said the students had set off on a fishing trip to celebrate the completion of their exams.
An investigation has been launched.
