Colombo, Dec 17 (NIA) – At least 10 people were killed and several others injured in an accident in Chavakachcheri, in Sri Lanka’s former war torn north on Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred when a passenger bus collided head on with a van which was transporting a group of pilgrims from capital Colombo to Jaffna, in the north.
Police said the injured were rushed to Jaffna Hospital.
Investigations have been launched into the accident.
