Colombo, August 23 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 390,000 mark as another 4,304 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (22).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 390,000 with 40,475 active cases registered across the island and as many as 342,159 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 183 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Saturday (21).
Reportedly, as many as 136 deaths were reported among elderly people who are aged above 60 years.
In addition, 45 individuals aged between 30-59 years and 2 females below 30 years have also succumbed to the virus infection.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 7,366 as of now.
