Colombo, July 28 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 299,000 mark as another 1,711 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (27).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 299,892 with 25,389 active cases registered across the island and as many as 270,356 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 48 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Monday (July 26).
Reportedly, among the victims are one male aged below 30 years, 09 victims aged between 30-59 years, and 38 others aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 4,195 as of now.
