Colombo, July 22 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 289,000 mark as another 1,566 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (21).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 289,539 with 21,911 active cases registered across the island and as many as 263,758 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 47 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Wednesday (July 21).
Reportedly, among the victims are 10 males and 04 females aged between 30-59 years and 16 males and 17 females aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 3,917 as of now.
