Colombo, July 17 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 281,000 mark as another 1,446 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (16).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 281,989 with 23,528 active cases registered across the island and as many as 254,871 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 41 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Thursday (July 15).
Reportedly, among the victims are 09 males and 03 females aged between 30-59 years and 14 males and 18 females aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 3,702 as of now.
