Colombo, August 26 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 407,000 mark as another 4,483 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (25).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 407,768 with 50,890 active cases registered across the island and as many as 348,930 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 198 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Tuesday (24).
Reportedly, 1 among the victims is aged below 30 years while 51 of them are aged between 30-59 years and 146 others are aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 7,948 as of now.
