Colombo, February 7 (NewsWire) – Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has confirmed his visit to Sri Lanka.
According to Sri Lanka foreign ministry Pakistan PM is scheduled to arrive on February 22 on a two day visit to Colombo.
Pakistan PM will hold talks with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
Imran Khan’s visit, scheduled a month after Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s three-day visit to Colombo, will likely coincide with the early days of the 46th UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, where a new resolution on Sri Lanka will be adopted by members.
Pakistan is currently a member of the Council.
“Foreign Ministry sources said Pakistan was now lobbying Muslim countries in the UNHRC to vote against the resolution that is due to come up on February 23.” Sri Lanka’s Sunday Times Newspaper reported.
