Colombo, May 9 (AdaDerana) – Update: Island-wide police curfew has been declared in Sri Lanka until further notice, the police media spokesperson announced.
A Police curfew has been imposed on the Western Province with immediate effect.
The Police Media Spokesperson said that the Police curfew will be in effect until further notice.

Previously, a police curfew had been imposed in Colombo North, Colombo Central and Colombo South with immediate effect.
The curfew order will be in force until further notice.
Tensions were high at the Galle Face Green today (May 09) after the protest site was attacked by a group of government supporters.
