Colombo, July 16 (NewsWire) – Sri Lankans residing overseas have launched a Dollar challenge on social media to generate dollars for Sri Lanka through official banking channels.
The move has been taken following the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday.

Known as the #SriLankaDollarChallenge, it has been launched to help Sri Lanka overcome its current economic difficulties and foreign exchange crisis.
The challenge calls on Sri Lankans residing overseas to join and challenge fellow Sri Lankans who live overseas.
Following are the instructions on the Dollar challenge according to the official #SriLankaDollarChallenge Facebook account.

Accept
If you are a Sri Lankan living overseas, you can accept the challenge. If you are a Sri Lankan living in Sri Lanka, you can challenge a friend or family who is living overseas to accept the challenge
Transfer
Please transfer any amount of dollars or any other currencies through an Official Banking Channel to your family that lives in Sri Lanka.

Then upload the receipt to Facebook by copying this post.
Give
Then challenge another Five to Ten Friends who live overseas and share this post on your Facebook timeline with the #SriLankaDollarChallenge hashtag.
